Vicky Gray-Clark is principal of Los Angeles-based Ambient PR, a full-service public relations boutique specializing in entertainment technology and related creative communities. Vicky’s diverse background in PR working with start-ups to globally recognized companies has provided her with extensive knowledge developing and executing successful PR/communications programs with a focus on consumer entertainment brands and pioneering entertainment software and hardware technology innovators developing the digital content creation technologies, products and services shaping the future.
It was in San Jose, working as a PR manager at Silicon Graphics (SGI) – the premier computer supplier to Hollywood – supporting the senior entertainment technology marketing team members in the film, audio, video, broadcast, post-production, gaming and emerging technology markets, that Vicky developed a fascination for technology’s impact on the creative process. Partnering with executives at leading production studios and technology companies such as ILM, Pacific Data Images, Disney Quest and Discreet Logic, she earned a reputation for establishing positive relationships with global entertainment technology trade and business publications and brand executives that resulted in consistent top tier media coverage.
In 1998, Vicky founded Ambient PR setting out to create an agency focusing on clients developing transformative software technology solutions across the entertainment spectrum. She is known as an accomplished expert in media relations with deep connections to creative technology influencers and top tier content producers. Drawing on her niche market knowledge, communication skills and extensive media relationships, Vicky’s tenacious and results-driven campaign approach has skillfully catapulted clients into the limelight including Maxon, Nothing Real, Splutterfish, wondertouch, Lightcraft Technolgy, iPi Soft, Cinnafilm, and many others — companies whose software solutions are pivotal to content creators around the globe. Vicky is also proud of her proven track record for raising brand awareness for a number of start-up creative technology companies leading to fruitful acquisitions during her tenure.
Earlier in her career, Vicky worked for global PR agencies in New York and Los Angeles, including Burson-Marsteller, Baker/Winokur/Ryder and Markham-Novell. Working closely with both PR and marketing teams she spearheaded PR initiatives for the most visible entertainment brands (television/film/video content), consumer electronics), and automotive as well as handled large- and small-scale special events and celebrity-driven appearances and partnerships. Clients included Fiat/Iveco, Disney, AT&T, Jim Henson Productions and The Muscular Dystrophy Association
Vicky is passionate about the creative tech community and takes a genuine interest in industry trends and the artists creating amazing entertainment content. She annually attends the NAB and SIGGRAPH as well as others, including IBC. She is also a member and active volunteer with the Visual Effects Society. Vicky is committed to a strong work ethic and high personal integrity that contributes to positive business relationships and successful completion of objectives. She believes in a healthy work/life balance and is especially pleased at the growing mindfulness movement taking hold in the workplace. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, practicing yoga (holds a yoga teaching certification), Italian travel, walks in nature, music, learning new things and drinking chai tea.
